Often I like to have some more than 2 sessions remembered by session manager.
Is there already a hidden setting to tweak this?
Additionally it would be nice, if empty sessions would not overwrite non-empty sessions.
at least one non-empty session should remain.
E.g. if I start Firefox 2 times with not reloading the old session, any old sessions are deleted, which is not reasonable IMO.

Thanks!

onemen is working on TMP session manager improvement but in the mean time, you might want to try Session Manager ext., works well with TMP and your sessions will be converted to SM.

Thanks for your kind hint.
But I must say, I more like the TMP style of things. ...so hoping for soon progress in this issue.
The Session Manager ext's options are too complicated, but meanwhile good for workaround.

+1 vote for the enhancements:
- more than 2 slots for remembered sessions. better, if the num can be modifiable
- don't remember empty session. better if empty window isn't included in a remembered session (eg. 2 windows, 1 is empty, don't include the empty window)
- provide session management, just a simple categorization, much like directory

ps. i've tried SessionManager & had some crashes with it (to be fair, i don't know what the causes exactly, but installing that extension was the only major thing i did with firefox)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with SM - it works perfectly well for thousands of us, i use it in Fx betas along with TMP since day one of each ext. and never had a crash due to either. You may have a crash report (type about:crashes and see what's on that page) or errors in console to try to find out but i'm pretty sure it's not SM.
SM has all the options you want, it works very well, easily customizable and has superb support (i linked to its thread ^ above where you can ask any question, Morac is always there to answer).

ok, i'll give SM another shoot. but if there's already some ongoing work on TMP's session manager, it might take the above improments into consideration
thx

Originally, TMP sm wasn't meant to be a full-featured session manager, was just kind of an option to save/restore a session when Fx didn't have even that much. As far as i understand, onemen is re-writing it now to make it a full-featured session manager. I'd imagine it will have those basic options.

Hi, are there any news about integrating those basic options into TMP?
I would like such basic options in TMP, because SM is often too complicated for less experienced computer users, where I often add TMP.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Have you tried TMP sm lately? I see there's more than 2 sessions and i can do quite a few things using right click on any of them, etc.

This irritates me. I have TMP 0.4.1.7. I I only see 2 sessions to choose, and there is no right click menu:

What is this ^? Do you have the TMP session manager button on any toolbar?

Aha, I understand. These are manually saved sessions.
But these are not the subject of my request :!:
I'm speaking of the sessions, which are automatically saved at each close of Firefox. There are still only 2 :
Last Session
Previous to Last

I am the original requester. I should have said "more automatic backups." I have had cases where restart did not function properly (once or twice in a row)and the last correct backup cycled out before I had a stable restart and all that were left were empty or home page sessions.

+1
Yes, this is the main reason, why I posted this request.
Thanks for bringing this up again. :)

I believe Mike-B meant his other thread.
Looks like onemen might not be interested but i'd suggest you both wait and see if he responds anything.
