Please read this page about TMP as a webExtension

As onemen says, anyone who would like to contribute in any way (code/monetary), can contact him through the email posted on that page.

This thread is to help onemen to keep our favorite extension alive. Post the features you'd like to keep and/or add to the new TMP but please try to keep it short and to the point for onemen to easily scan the thread. onemen will do his best to try and implement whatever will be possible.
Thank you!

I'll start:

1. Multirow
2. Session manager (at his point, it's unclear if SM ext. will continue. There's a Tabzen ext. though)
3. Closed tabs list (menu stays till mouseout)
4. Reload tab every ... + Reload left/right
5. Rename tab
6. Open (all) links in new tabs (at the end) but really the whole Events tab features
7. Move (selected tabS) to new window (<< new! onemen, i have a CustomButton by srazzano. If you want the code, let me know)

NOTE: i will trim everything off topic without warning. All chats about TMP as WebExt. can go here and chats about donations can go here.

The biggie for me: Ctrl-Tab navigates tabs in the most recently used order
Second: Enable undo close tabs / windows

What follows is gravy:
Multirow tabs with being able to set width min/max
Open New Tab next to current one
Open other tabs next to current tab
-- Change opening order
Open duplicated tabs next to original
Focus/Select tabs that open from: (all of the options currently presented)

makondo, I saw Session Manager on your list. I think it goes without saying that a session manager is a prerequisite. I would hope that the base FF would (eventually?) have this feature.

combine 2 posts. Let's keep it short as possible. Thanks.

I specifically installed TMP to give me back the ability to close tabs by double clicking on them, which I had got so used to for years with Opera 12.
I quickly found other things I liked about it, such as the progress bar on tabs, the duplicate tab function, and the facility to keep the browser open when the last tab is closed (I understand that the last two are available natively now) but the first is still the most important to me, although I realise it's a very minor facility on something as powerful as TMP.
:)

Bookmarks, address bar, history, and search bar should all open new tabs.

Never hide the tab bar. Multiple rows of tab bar.

New windows should open as new tabs instead.

Wow, looking through my TMP options only now do I realize just how much I'm going to miss this extension and how much it changed the way I work. I'm cursing myself for not having contributed to its development over the years. If it's revived as a WE I won't make that mistake twice! It's the last extension for which I haven't found a viable WE replacement, and probably near the very top in terms of importance.

- MultiRow is #1 on my list
- Enable Undo Close Tabs
- The whole Events/Tab Open Menu
- The whole Menu/Tab Context Menu
- The Mouse Click Options (not having double click to close is going to drive me crazy)

Dang, it's hard to prioritize. I would just include everything.

Both Firefox 52 and Nightly have "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" option under Options, unlike Chrome (last I checked) and many others.

But being able to choose Multirow tabs and set width min/max should indeed be a priority option.

Once again:
let's keep it short and to the point! Just your requests, please, and try not to repeat what's already has been posted. Everything else can go to the Future of TMP ... thread. This thread is about REQUESTS. It will be up to onemen to see what - if anything - he will be able to implement.
Thanks.

Tab stacking (collapse/expand stack) and tab coloring (all tabs from the stack have unique color).

Address bar entries, both typed text and clicked choices from the drop down, should open as new tabs.

However, this is currently impossible under the webextensions framework.

In order of priority for me. If any are built into 57+ let me know and I'll remove it.

1. Switch to last selected tab when clicking current one (I always used a delay of 0 msec)
2. Middle click on the tabbar: Reopens last closed tab
3. Middle click on a tab: Closes tab
4. Prevent blank tabs when downloading files

Hello Everyone! I've been silently following TMP progress for some time and I hope onemen will keep doing his excellent work in the future as well.

Anyway here is my list of features (in order of priority):
1. Multirow tab list + Min/Max tab sizes
2. Tab events (Opening tabs next to current one, focus on tab closing, opening order and etc.)
3. Undo close tab list
These three features affect my work 100% of the time. They (or rather their lack of) are the things that remind me that I'm not on my desktop.

4. Session manager
(This one and the rest of TMP features are somewhat expendable in my book. Useful but not essential.)

Thanks a lot!

The functions I use by far the most are
* using the scroll wheel in the tab bar or
* hovering over tabs to switch tabs
(I'm also using tree style tabs and this is the most natural way to use tabs for me).

That is followed by mouse click functions like
* middle click to close
* double click tabs to duplicate
* middle click tab bar to undo close tabs

What's also important is
* control how new tabs are handled (foreground/background depending on what they are opened by/from)

The different styles for unread or unloaded tabs are really nice and useful, but not critical.

I hardly ever use the context menu (except for selecting a tab for "undo close"), keyboard shortcuts (except for the browser standard CTRL-T, CTRL-W, CTRL-R, ... which I use extensively) or the session manager (although it is really nice to have WHEN you need it, like after a crash).

I think I have never used locked or protected tabs, or used the merge tabs function (don't even know what all these do ;) )

Locked means all links from this tab will open new tabs.
Protected means you can't close the tab (the Close tab icon will not show and Context menu item Close Tab will not work either).
Merge is self-explanatory, i believe. If you have 2 windows open and want to combine them into one ...

The most important Tab Mix Plus features for me are:
1. multirow
2. switch tabs on hover ("Mouse Gestures" section, 1st option)
3. session manager

mouse clicking: customise command to use for double click, middle click, ctrl-click, shift-click, alt-click on tab and on tab bar

open everything in a new tab: links, bookmarks, history, address bar, search

tab merging: merge all tabs into one window and close windows when merged

undo close tabs: max 10

context menu: move tab to new window, merge windows, open link in this tab, open link in new tab

Features I actively use daily:

Duplicate current tab to new window
Toolbar button for reopening closed tabs

But there are also many settings that I rely on without even being aware of them because they just work in the background:

Control what opens in a new tab (e.g., links, bookmarks, etc.)
Preventing blank tabs when downloading files
Order of new tabs
Not loading tabs until selected when opening more than x tabs

And others that are less vital

3. Closed tab list
4. Lock, Pin, Auto Reload Tab

Thanks for this great extension, also just donated a little ;)

All my "musts" have already been covered above. However, I know that some of the most important ones(multirow/tab size, new tab from everything and closed tabs list/seession manager) are not covered by the WE API and they also don't seem to be getting much attention on bugzilla. I would encourage anyone who already has an account there to go vote and track the bugs that are blocking this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1226546
Don not, however, engage in any form of advocacy there as it is a bug tracker and not the proper forum for that. So, unless you have anything technical to add/contribute to the respective bug(s), please refrain from commenting.
